The identity of this revolution was Quranic, its objective was divine, its manner was holy and its leadership was Islamic,” Sheikh Qassim said in an address to an international conference titled “Imam Khomeini and the Contemporary World”.
He added that the revolution’s path was one of monotheism and resistance against tyranny and all kinds of oppression.
“The Islamic Revolution came to bring back the true Islam that had been absent from the scene… and uphold justice…,” the senior cleric said.
He went on to say that the revolution also revived the spirit of resistance and moving toward independence and freedom from oppression and foreign dominance.
